Lady turning clockwise
Here is the optical illusion about a lady turning clockwise or anti-clockwise… depends how your brain interpret the images… the results are amazing…
How many people saws the lady turning clockwise or the lady turning anticlockwise?
What’s more common?
Here I try to answer that question with a survey or poll about that.

.
Supposedly if you see the lady turning clockwise, then you use more your right side of the brain and if you see the lady turning anti-clockwise, then you use more your left side of the brain.
In the original news says that the most of us see the lady turning anti-clockwise.
This is apparently wrong if we look at the results of the survey.

.
This post it’s about this brain / mind optical illusion and is part of my SEO investigation too.
You can read my original post about this here:
Right Brain vs Left Brain Survey / Poll – Mind optical illusion
I can see her stop and change directions. Neat!!!
Perhaps the poll is skewed because left brainers are not interested in these things, them being more pragmatic,.
Hocus Pocus – just like most personality tests, and astrology
If it is an optical illusion, then it has to do with optical pre-processing in the brain, and does not come near the interpretive or cognitive associations suggested in the original article, or in the pseudo-field of neo-cognitivism that regurgitates this stuff.
I can only see clockwise direction with my periferal sight, as I read the text below her spinning legs. When I watch her directly, I can only see anti clockwise direction.
Superbly illmuinanitg data here, thanks!
I voted always clockwise, but after I stared for what seemed like a long time, I finally saw the turn back to anti-clock wise. Maybe you just have to be more patient than I was?
She was spinning clockwise. So then I made her spin counter clockwise. I was able to make her go back and forth clockwise, then counter clockwise. I tried controlling it and then I was able to get her to pivot left and right, back and forth without making a full circle. Just swinging her leg left and right, then a full circle then left and right. I was able to make her dance to the music I was listening to. It freaked me out and when I started to laugh she started spinning clockwise.
At first she was spinning counter clockwise, then I noticed it change. Then I consciously tried to control it, and was able to see it whichever way I choose, at will. I can make her go back and forth halfway through, over and over, or let her go clockwise, changing it to counterclockwise at will….or visa versa….it’s fun…and easy.
I saw her first going clockwise and then if I look up and then down and then straight at her she’ll reverse her direction. Sometimes she just vacillates back and forth with out completely turning.
Initially I saw her spinning clockwise but flipped the other way in a few seconds and back again. For the next couple of minutes I tried to control her spinning with my mind. I can now spin her in either direction at will.
she changed the rotation when I move my mouse in clockwise /
counter-clockwise circles..
I couldn’t get it to change rotation without moving my mouse..
It also seemed to increase the speed of which she spins around when I was moving my mousepointer around..
I don’t think it’s an optical illusion at all. If you wait long enough, it turns making us think it is an optical illusion.
Is that really optical illusion?
I can see them moving both ways. The trick I use is:
1. Scroll down till you see only the dancer’s one foot.
2. Look at the shadow of the feet and imagine the dancer shadow rotating in the reverse direction.
If your imagination and focus is strong enough, you will catch the original image rotating in the reverse direction as well.
Once you get the trick, you can see the dancer rotating either way with the whole image.
Let me know if this trick works.
Meanwhile, I have a whole philosophical perspective about this. How our mind is stuck in concepts and makes assumptions based on our memory and first impressions of the object. The more we can break our concepts, the more open-minded perspective we can have.
when I look at it with my peripheral vision she spins half way around and then reverses direction, never making the complete rotation. I guess my brain is in conflict with the world. When I look directly at it she always spins clockwise. Interesting since I consider myself left brained
I actually counted the turns. Although in the beginning it was pretty even for both, it then began to turn more often to the left.
Suraj, I use the same trick to see the turning in both directions!
And I completely agree with your philosophical perspective about this.
I can make her come to a complete stop. And stay there. So is that a ‘no-brainer’ or what?
Well, the fact that the post was titled “Lady turning clockwise” is I think going to skew the perceptions of how people first view the animation. Myself, I saw the headline, then I looked at the woman and saw what the heading told me I was supposed to see, a lady turning clockwise, then I read the post and saw that it was supposed to be an optical illusion, and I was able to see it both ways. If you just showed the animation and the poll, without the power of suggestion being provided by your headline, then your survey results might match those of the original more closely.
another thing– if its turning clockwise then the raised leg is higher when it’s behind her.
if it’s turning anti-clockwise then the raised leg is higher at the front…
meh don’t know how much this stuff counts… but it does show that the two options [ clockwise, anti-clockwise ] are different to each other.
She alternates between which leg she has raised. How can that be an optical illusion? It must be a scam.
Nice body anyway 😉
Try to blink with your eyes very fast while you’re watching the animation, until she appear to turn the other way then stop blinking.
Tip: Vary the speed of your blinking.
What happen is that you’ll break the animation by blinking into images, and your brain will try to fill the rest, and when in several images ‘the lady’ appears to turn the opposite way your brain will be convinced of that you will start seeing her turning in the other direction.
she needs to put on some clothes. for those who says that “there’s nothing wrong with it”; my response for these hypocrits: how come there no naked guy spinning around if there’s nothing wrong with spinning around with no clothes on????
Very interesting stuff about Lady turning clockwise at GooHackle . Thanks and keep up the good work. Merry christmas to u all 😉
I gathered a few coworkers to watch her turn. We woud each call out when ever the lady turned in a different direction. It was not always at the same time althogh we were all watching at the same time. Therefor I do not think it is a trick. We would compare and the lady turned for us sometimes in the same direction and at other times differently.
real cool.
I can make her jump up and down. just move the scroll bar on your mouse. it’s amazing 🙂
It’s weird, yesterday I saw her turning right and now I see that she is turning left.
eisuahiueahs nice joke !!!!
I see clockwise first and if I look away, she changes directions. This is really weird but I do have quailities of both left and right.
Spoiler: if you wish to break the illusion of this image then simply wait for her outside foot to almost touch her standing foot then choose the direction in which you wish to see her spin, concentrate on the feet. Almost like life, you choose your reality 🙂
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she is just turning clockwise and counter clockwise but if you focuson the shadow it wont eork but if u focus on the tip end of the front feet
